What You Will Learn

Increase your ability to re-engage disconnected students in school. Many of today’s adolescents feel disconnected and discouraged in school.  Students caught in this cycle of fear, failure and frustration develop a resistance to even “try.” Their days in school are marked by a sense of chronic distraction and hopelessness that can lead to a lifetime of disappointment and untapped potential.

In this informative 90-minute webinar, nationally recognized consultant, Steph Jensen will describe approaches for school personnel that will help them boost their effectiveness with these young people. She will share key insights on how to inspire these students by helping them to explore their visions of vocational/college/career, develop goals and connect them to opportunities for success in their secondary education.  Insights and current best practices will be shared for incorporating strategic conversations with students about the meaning of success and their personal career goals/dreams. Recommendations will be provided for how to help discouraged youth by clarifying and tapping into personal-career goals as a basis for helping them to become better connected with learning initiatives in school and cut through the fog of fear, failure and frustration.
