What You Will Learn

Motivation problems and behavior problems usually go hand-in-hand.  In this 90-minute webinar, Brian Mendler, co-author of Discipline with Dignity 3rd Edition, provides proven methods and strategies for inspiring motivation and improving behavior with difficult-to-reach students.
Students misbehave for a variety of reasons seeking attention, wanting to look “cool” in front of their friends, frustrated with an absence of control, lacking a feeling of competence or belonging, and sometimes even a lack of awareness.

Principals, teachers, deans, counselors and other educators will learn the major themes of motivation and be presented with numerous practical strategies that effectively awaken student motivation and help educators manage disruptive behavior.  The presenter will explore specific triggers that lead students to become unmotivated and, most importantly, effective methods that help them make better choices.

You will learn:

  • Underlying Causes of Student Misbehavior
  • How to Avoid Power Struggles with Student
  • Creative Classroom Strategies for Involving Uninterested Students
  • Prevention Phrases that Work
  • Oppositional Defiance Patterns
  • 8 Steps to Diffusing any Student
